The Asahigaoka High School Science Seminar Club visited ASHBi

On December 23, 2024, the Asahigaoka High School Science Seminar Club (13 students, 3 teachers) visited ASHBi.

First, they attended a lecture by Dr. T. Yamamoto (Core head) and Dr. Hirota about SignAC and the principles of long-read sequencing followed by a tour of the core facility. They curiously explored the lab space and equipment.

Next, they received the lecture from Dr. Amemori (PI) about anxiety and depression. They showed great curiosity, asking a lot of questions about his research. Then Mr. Ito (Graduate student) shared about his experience and insights into research and college life.

Finally, they had a discussion with Dr. Hiiragi (PI) about science, research and related topics, with a particular focus on the philosophy of science. This was followed by a tour of ASHBi microscope room, where Dr. Ichikawa explained the unique feature of each microscope.
