PI Motoko Yanagita received an honorary fellowship from the Technical University of Aachen

Dr. Motoko Yanagita has been awarded the title of Honorary Fellow, one of the RWTH Aachen University’s most prestigious titles, for her outstanding contributions to kidney research. The presentation ceremony took place on February 9th at Kyoto University.
She was honored with the title in recognition of her significant contributions of clarifying the mechanism of kidney disease onset and development from various aspects over many years.

In addition to this recent honor, Dr. Yanagita received the Oshima Award from the Japanese Society of Nephrology in 2004, an elected member of the American Society of Clinical investigation since 2013, the Belz Award (second place) in 2020, and the Academic Award from the Kidney Foundation, Japan in 2023. Furthermore, she has been awarded the Bywaters Award at the 2024 International Congress of Nephrology.
