PI Sungrim Seirin-Lee’s paper selected a candidate for Development’s Outstanding Paper Prize

The paper “The extra-embryonic space and the local contour are crucial geometric constraints regulating cell arrangement” by Sungrim Seirin-Lee, ASHBi PI and Professor, was selected as candidates for Development’s Outstanding Paper Prize. This prize is awarded to the best paper among 350 papers published in Development in 2022, and the paper was selected as one of the 21 papers in the shortlist.

Thomas Lecuit, professor at the Collège de France/The Marseille Developmental Biology Institute (IBDM), who selected the paper, commented ‘”Addressing the role of geometric constraints on development is really important and this is a great system. As one of the referees wrote, ‘This work is an important advance both methodological and conceptual to understand cell positions during early embryo development.”’ on the paper.
