Dr. Motoko Yanagita, ASHBi PI and Professor, received the Bywaters Award from the International Society of Nephrology.

The International Society of Nephrology (ISN), established in 1960, aims to contribute to the kidney health worldwide through education, grants, research, and advocacy. The ISN is a global expert organization with over 30,000 medical professionals participating from all around the world. The Bywaters Award is given to the individual who made an outstanding contribution to the understanding of acute kidney injury.

PI Yanagita received the Oshima Award from the Japanese Society of Nephrology in 2004, the Belz Award (second place) in 2020, and the Academic Award from the Kidney Foundation, Japan in 2023. She has been an elected member of the American Society of Clinical investigation since 2013.
