Biography
Spyros obtained his BSc in Microbiology with Immunology (University of Leeds) and MSc in Neuroscience (UCL) in the UK. He received his PhD in Molecular Biology in the lab of Dr. Juergen Knoblich at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA) in Austria (2011). Then, he did his Postdoc/Special-Appointed Assistant Professor (2012-2018) in the lab of Prof. Shigeo Ohno (Yokohama City University), before moving to the US to become an Associate Scientific Editor (2018-2022) at Developmental Cell (Cell Press/Elsevier). In 2022, he moved back to Japan to become the Scientific Advisor at the ASHBi.
