Event Report: 1st Workshop on ASHBi Fusion Research Grant

WPI-ASHBi has established the ASHBi Fusion Grant to progressively advance fusion research between mathematics and biology, between bioethics and biology, or between biology and biology.

1st ASHBi Fusion Research Grant Workshop was held on June 19, 2020, and the grant winners of 7 research projects this year introduced their research plans. A total of 36 researchers and students of the ASHBi participated via Zoom, on-line.

Speakers & theme of the teams:

  1. Dr. Yusuke Seto
Mathematical modelling and experimental modulation of the dynamics of human osteogenesis
  2. Dr. Yusuke Imoto
Identification of multi-resolution cell differentiation dynamics from scRNA-seq data via mathematical data analysis and interactive visualization
  3. Dr. Kumiko Yoshioka-Kobayashi
Characterization of gene regulatory networks in human and non-human in vitro segmentation clocks
  4. Dr. Taro Tsujimura
Topological approaches for integrative 3D epigenomics
  5. Dr. Sohei Tasaki
Inference of genome-wide DNA demethylation kinetics by dynamic model fitting
  6. Dr. Tsutomu Sawai
Examining Ethics and Governance in Developmental Biology
  7. Dr. Xun Chen
Deciphering evolutionary differences of germline transposable element dynamics
