WPI-ASHBi held the ASHBi Retreat 2020 on February 7 and 8, 2020 at Awaji Yumebutai International Conference Center in Awaji Island.

A total of 77 researchers and students, including the guest speakers Kengo Kawaguchi (RIKEN BDR), Mineko Kengaku and Jun Suzuki (WPI-iCeMS) participated in the first retreat held by ASHBi.

To wrap up the 2-day program, ASHBi Director Mitinori Saitou awarded the "Excellence in Research Award" to Chi-Yang Chen (Isa Group) and Ken Mizuta (Saitou Group). The two recipients were granted research funding of JPY300000 in FY2020 to promote their research.
