Fumitaka Inoue obtained his PhD from Saitama University (2008) and undertook postdoctoral training at RIKEN, center for developmental biology (2008-2012). He moved to University of California, San Francisco (2012-2020) as a postdoctoral fellow. He was appointed Associate Professor (Bourque group co-PI) in 2020 in ASHBi, Kyoto University.

Mari OHNUKI obtained her PhD from Medical science, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University in 2014. Trained as a postdoc researcher at CiRA, Kyoto University in 2014 and at Anthropology and Human Genomics Group, Faculty of Biology, Ludwig Maximilian's University of Munich (Munich University) in Germany from 2014 to 2022. Also worked as a JSPS Overseas Fellow from 2015 to 2016. Current position from December 2022.

Yizhi Yan obtained her BD from Zhejiang University (2017) and MD from Peking University (2020) and undertook resident clinical training in Peking University Third Hospital (2017-2020). Changed her direction and moved to Kyoto University as a PhD student (Kyoto-McGill joint PhD program).
