Articles: Does the Act on the Safety of Regenerative Medicine in Japan ensure “Safety”? : Implications of low adverse event reporting

A research team led by Dr. Tsunakuni Ikka of the National Cancer Center Japan, Dr. Taichi Hatta of Shizuoka Graduate University of Public Health, Dr. Yoko Saito of the National Cancer Center Japan and Dr. Misao Fujita of Kyoto University investigated the reporting status of adverse events arising from regenerative medicine under the Act on the Safety of Regenerative Medicine (ASRM) in Japan. This study highlights the flawed reporting mechanisms and unfulfilled legislative aims of the ASRM.
The result was published in Stem Cell Reports on November 16, 2023.
