(Event Report) ASHBi Retreat 2022

With the aim to promote interactions between young scientists of different ASHBi PI groups, we held the ASHBi Retreat 2022 on 28 & 29 January 2022, via Zoom online.

A total of 238 researchers and students participated in two dates in the 3rd retreat held by ASHBi.

The 4th Workshop on ASHBi Fusion Research Grant was held on 28 January, and a total of 14 presenters from each fusion research groups reported the progress of their fusion research in FY2021.

The 2nd day, 29 January was the Poster session where 31 poster presenters gave flash talks followed by active discussions between presenters and participants in the breakout rooms.

To wrap up the retreat, ASHBi Director Mitinori Saitou awarded the “Excellence in Research Award” to Shruti Bhagat (Murakawa Group), Ken Mizuta (Saitou Group), and Naoya Toriu (Yanagita Group). The three recipients were granted research funding of JPY300000 in FY2022 to promote their research.
