The Alev Group is pleased to welcome Prof. Hiroki Ueda from the University of Tokyo for an upcoming ASHBi Seminar. Prof. Ueda’s pioneering research tackles three core challenges in human biology — causation, complexity, and heterogeneity — through a suite of innovative technologies. His lab has developed next-generation genetic tools (Triple CRISPR, ES mice), tissue-clearing methods (CUBIC), and behavioral tracking platforms (ACCEL) to deeply explore cellular networks and physiological states like sleep. In this seminar, Prof. Ueda will present groundbreaking insights into the molecular mechanisms of sleep, highlighting the role of calcium signaling and CaMKII phosphorylation in sleep regulation.
