On February 10, 2023, Dr. Ivan Smalyukh, Director of WPI-SKCM² (International Institute for Sustainability with Knotted Chiral Meta Matter), Hiroshima University, and Dr. Ryuichi Sato, URA, visited ASHBi.　Administrative Director tadashi Ogawa and Makoto Shida, introduced the overview of ASHBi followed by a brief tour of ASHBi Main Building. The participants exchanged ideas on the establishment stages of a WPI center.

WPI-SKCM2 has been selected as one of the three WPI centers in October 2022 by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Please check the WPI website for the details on the WPI program.
